Campout - North Wind
North Wind Experience - January 16-17
For scouts in 6th grade and up. Cost for Experience is $58/scout.
Scouts arrive at Camp Stearns on Saturday morning and after some brief
training, they are issued clothing/gear to spend the day outside (a full
list of items provided can be found in the link below). Scouts then spend
the day outdoors building shelters, playing games, hiking, etc. and then
sleep in cabins. There are additional activities Sunday morning with the
camp closing after lunch/recognition on Sunday.
North Wind Adventure - January 15-17
For scouts in 7th grade and up. Cost for Adventure is $72/scout.
Scouts arrive at Camp Stearns on Friday evening and receive training. They
are issued clothing/gear to spend the next day and night outside (a full
list of items provided can be found in the links below). Friday night is
spent in cabins. The scouts then spend Saturday outdoors hiking to their
camp sites, building shelters, playing games, hiking, cooking, etc. and then
sleep in their shelters Saturday night. Sunday morning they break camp and
return to the North Wind lodge for lunch/recognition. If the temperature
drops below 0 degrees you earn a "Zero Hero" patch!
