Merit Badge Madness (MBM) 2007

General Information

A Quick Look at MBM:

Each year Troop 695 puts on Merit Badge Madness during the months of January and February.  We devote the last part of January and all of February to working on Merit Badges.  A mixture of Eagle-required and optional badges are offered.

How does it work? Scouts sign up for badges they want to work on.  A signup sheet is handed out during the month of December.  The Scouts then work on the badge requirements during the Troop meetings in January and February.

The culmination of badge work takes place at Camp St. Croix in Hudson, WI one weekend in February.  In addition to finalizing their work on badges, the Scouts have the option of going skiing or snowboarding at Afton Alps.

Camping in February?  Relax.  We stay in heated cabins and have indoor meeting space.  Meals are provided by the camp and eaten in the dining hall. No tents! No cooking! No washing dishes!

Merit Badge Books:

Troop 695 has a very extensive library with plenty of copies of the Merit Badge books to go around.  However, in order to make the books available to the next person, it is important that Scouts return all Merit Badge books for badges that they have either finished or for which they no longer need the book.  And, if you're not quite finished with that badge, this is a great time to get it finished!

Beginning with this year's MBM, we will ask the Scouts to sign out the Merit Badge books they will be using.  If a book is lost or not returned, that Scout will have to pay to replace the lost book.
