Job Description
The Chaplain’s Aide plans Sunday
morning services at campouts.
He helps to see that religious holidays
are considered during the program planning.
He promotes the
Religious
Emblems program.
He encourages Patrols to say grace before meals by
providing sample scripts.
He gives the Invocation at Courts of Honor.
He
attends PLC meetings and Junior Leader Training, and writes a monthly
article for the newsletter.
He keeps his notebook updated, and passes it
on to the next Scout to hold his position.
He works with the Troop
Secretary in carrying out his duties.
The Chaplain's Aide is also responsible for organizing helpers for the
Scout Sunday church service at Prairie Lutheran (ushers, greeters,
working in Sunday School, etc.)

Suggested Goals
- Attend all campouts during the next 6 months;
- Attend all Troop Meetings and activities during
the next 6 months;
- Attend all PLC meetings for the next 6 months;
- Remind Patrols to say grace at campouts. Provide them
with sample scripts;
- Give the invocation at Courts of Honor;
- Assist Scouts in understanding the Scout Oath and the Scout Law
("... a scout is reverent" and "...to do my duty to
God").
- Attend Junior Leader Training;
- Write a monthly article for The Reconnaissance;

Keep the Aide's notebook updated
- Pass the Aide's notebook on to the next Chaplain‘s Aid;
- Assist in the transition of the next Chaplain’s Aid;
