Job Description

He keeps the Troop’s books, pamphlets, magazines, and audiovisuals available for checkout by Scouts and leaders.

He also keeps a file of all Troop literature and a record of all materials loaned out. He recommends new acquisitions and reports on repair or replacement needs.

He attends PLC meetings and Junior Leader Training, and writes a monthly article for the newsletter. He keeps his notebook updated, and passes it on to the next Scout to hold his position.

 He works with the Troop Treasurer in carrying out his duties.

Suggested Goals

  • Attend all campouts during the next 6 months;
  • Attend all Troop Meetings and activities during
    the next 6 months;
  • Attend all PLC meetings for the next 6 months;
  • Keep an inventory of the Troop Library, including items on loan;
  • Recommend purchases to the Troop Committee.
  • Assist Scouts who would like to check out Library materials;
  • Attend Junior Leader Training.
  • Write a monthly article for The Reconnaissance;
  • Keep this notebook updated;
  • Pass this notebook on to the next Librarian;
  • Assist in the next Librarian’s transition;
