Job Description

The Scribe is the Troop Secretary. He attends the Patrol Leaders’ Council meetings and keeps a logbook of their decisions.

He keeps a record of attendance at meetings, activities, and campouts. (attendance roster)

He collects articles for the monthly newsletter.

He attends PLC meetings and Junior Leader Training, and writes a monthly article for the newsletter.

He works with the Troop Records Chair in carrying out his responsibilities.

He keeps his notebook updated, and passes it on to the next Scout to hold his position.

Suggested Goals

  • Attend all campouts during the next 6 months;
  • Attend all Troop Meetings and activities during
    the next 6 months;
  • Attend all PLC meetings for the next 6 months;
  • Distribute handouts for Leadership Notebooks;
  • Take attendance at all meetings, activities, and campouts and turn them in to the Records Chairperson;
  • Take minutes at the PLC Meetings and post them on the Troop bulletin board;
  • Attend Junior Leader Training;
  • Write a monthly article for The Reconnaissance;
  • Keep this notebook updated;
  • Pass this notebook on to the next Scribe;
  • Assist in the next Scribe’s transition;
